Lúrio University, affectionately baptized 

 UniLúrio, is the youngest public university in the country.

The second university after independence, and the first

established outside the capital city, Maputo.

Lúrio is the name of a river. A river that crawls along the

borders of the provinces of Cabo Delgado, Nampula and Niassa.

A river that, with its knowledge, vitality, magic and myths, 

has fed the knowledge, pleasures and living of those who live on the side of the river.

Our motto will always be “Scientia, Cretus, Fides”
